Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker including an interruption part structure capable of high speed commutation and interruption of an arc current in a small current region where magnetic driving by self-magnetic field is difficult, and capable of interruption even when the direction of the current is reversed.SOLUTION: A circuit breaker includes a stator 1 having a fixed contact 1a, a mover 2 having a movable contact 2a, a first induction passage 27, a first arc-extinguishing chamber 7, a second induction passage 28, a second arc-extinguishing chamber 8, and magnetic field generation means. The first arc-extinguishing chamber 7 extinguishes a first arc flowing from the movable contact 2a to the fixed contact 1a, and the second arc-extinguishing chamber 8 extinguishes a second arc flowing from the fixed contact 1a to the movable contact 2a. By the Lorentz force from the magnetic field of the magnetic field generation means, the first induction passage 27 induces the first arc to the first arc-extinguishing chamber 7, and the second induction passage 28 induces the second arc to the second arc-extinguishing chamber 8.
