Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a circuit breaker which ensures no stationary loss at a normal time, and which is capable of breaking a current path at high speed upon occurrence of an accident.SOLUTION: A circuit breaker 1 comprises: a first inductor 11 having a first external connection terminal T1; a first unit 12 that consists of a semiconductor power converter 21-1 and an inductor 22-1 for controlling a current serially connected thereto, and is connected to a terminal opposite to the first external connection terminal T1 of the first inductor 11; a second unit 13 that consists of a semiconductor power converter 21-2 and an inductor 22-2 for controlling a current serially connected thereto, and one terminal of which is connected to the first external connection terminal T1; a mechanical breaker 14 one terminal of which is connected to a connection point A between the first inductor 11 and the first unit 12; and a second inductor 15 that is connected between the terminal opposite to the side to which the first inductor 11 of first unit 12 is connected and the terminal opposite to the side to which the first external connection terminal T1 of second unit 13 is connected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
