Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve arc extinguishing capability by improving current interruption performance in an intermediate region.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a circuit breaker which interrupts an overcurrent or short circuit current flowing through an electric circuit. This circuit breaker includes: a fixed contactor which is connected to the electric circuit and has a fixed contact; a movable contactor which is arranged opposite to the fixed contact and has a movable contact which comes into contact therewith or is separated therefrom; an arc-extinguishing part for extinguishing arc generated between the fixed contact and the movable contact. The arc-extinguishing part has an arc-extinguishing plate for cooling the arc generated between contacts. At least one of the arc-extinguishing plates surrounds the movable contact and the arc-extinguishing plate is constituted of a magnet plate for generating a magnetic field in the direction intersecting with the locus in which the movable contact moves.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
