Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of improving current limiting performance and blocking performance by sufficiently cooling an arc generated between a fixed contact point and a movable contact point.SOLUTION: A body case accommodates a stationary contact 5 provided with a fixed contact point 5b, a movable contact 6 provided with a movable contact point 6a capable of contacting the fixed contact point, and an arc extinguishing device 3. The arc extinguishing device includes: a plurality of grids 33 formed in a U shape or a V shape and having a pair of grid leg portions 32 extending in parallel from a grid base portion 31 and arranged in layers; and a pair of slender arc extinguishing plates 36, 37 disposed so as to surround a moving track T of a movable contact point from both sides between a pair of grid leg portions of the plurality of grids. Then, strip-shaped projections 38, 39 are formed on a grid base side of a pair of slender arc extinguishing plates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
