Abstract:
To provide a circuit breaker that improves breaking performance by preventing re-contact or re-ignition of a movable contact and a fixed contact even when the movable contact opens due to small electromagnetic repulsive force.SOLUTION: In a circuit breaker 1, a movable contact 12 opens and closes in response to electromagnetic repulsion generated between fixed contacts 7 and 8 prior to the tripping operation of an opening/closing mechanism 3. When a movable contact that receives small electromagnetic repulsion force or large electromagnetic repulsion force opens or closes, the circuit breaker is equipped with holding mechanisms 16, 18, 21-24, 25-28, 19, 29 that prevent the movable contact from returning to the fixed contact in stages according to the open/close state of the movable contact.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
