Title:
CIRCUIT BREAKER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3628783
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and low-cost means for measuring current flowing through a circuit breaker with thermo-magnetic trip means.
SOLUTION: A voltage applied to a bimetal 19 is utilized for detecting a load current. The voltage signal for indicating current flowing to the bimetal is used as an input signal to a failure detector 25. The signal is converted into a di/dt signal, whose bandwidth is limited and a circuit breaker is tripped, when the level of di/dt signal exceeds a threshold which indicates an arc occurrence for a specific number of times within a specified time interval.
