To provide a circuit device in which circuits, electrical components and the like are effectively arranged in a wide range on circuit boards, the circuit boards are prevented from being attached to board holding parts in incorrect positions and the positioning of the circuit boards with respect to circuit board holding structures is facilitated.
The board holding parts 21-25 are arranged at irregular intervals in the circumferential direction of a peripheral wall 29 of a base member 19. A step part 41 which is formed like stairs of n steps is formed on the board holding parts 21-25 so that step surfaces 39A-39C may be positioned in n pieces of virtual planes IP1-IP3 which are spaced in the direction of their thickness and extend parallel to one another. The step surfaces 39A-39C which are positioned in the same virtual planes IP1-IP3 are brought into contact with the outer peripheral border on the underside of the same circuit boards 13-17. Parts intersected by the same virtual planes IP1-IP3 in the board holding parts 21-25 are fitted to concaves which are formed in the peripheries of the circuit boards 13-17.
