PURPOSE: To develop readily an image information of one frame using two horizontal transfer lines without increasing the horizontal transfer frequency.

CONSTITUTION: CCD 10, which is a solid state pick-up device is provided with two horizontal transfer lines 11A and 11B, and they read simultaneously two horizontal elements. Two kinds of outputted signals, odd signals from the line 11A and even signals from the line 11B, undergo picture processing individually to store them in memories 18-23. Image formation, therefore, is of full frame information and vertical resolution is improved.
