Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform the signal processing of a mechanism, which detects and identifies the various kinds of collision conditions of a body at the time of the collision.
CONSTITUTION: The output signal of an acceleration sensor 4, which has detected the shock wave caused by the collision of a body, is discriminated with a filter circuit 5 for every frequency band. Only the first waveform of the respective output waveforms of the filter circuit is made to pass with a gate circuit 8. The maximum value of the output of the gate circuit 8 is held by a peak holding circuit 9. The various impact conditions such as the impact speed, the impact angle and the material of the impacted body are computed by an operating circuit 6 based on the output of the peak holding circuit 9.
