Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable and efficient servo detection by compensating a missing pulse generated in a gray code area for recording track information in a servo area of a hard disk drive.
SOLUTION: A 1st AND gate 426 detects a positive pulse gray code by executing the AND operation of signals inputted from a digital servo data generator 418, a positive pulse detection window generator 420 and a gray code detection window generator 424 and outputs detected gray code to a positive gray synchronization/data separating circuit 430. Respective positive gray synchronization/data separating circuits 430, 432 mutually separate gray data and gray synchronization, which are processed by OR operation through respective OR gates 434, 436 and respective OR results are inputted to a gray synchronization judging circuit 438 and a gray data judging circuit 440. Even when an error is generated in either one of positive and negative gray data, the circuit 440 restores the error and transmits the restored data to a CPU 442.
