To provide a circular saw having an aligning device with a laser or another light source using a light beam for positioning saw teeth.
A bench type saw such as a shearing apparatus, a circular saw, a composite circular saw or a slide type circular saw which is equipped with a laser spindle sighting mechanism, is provided. An opaque protective component or a transmittable protective component having an opaque shielding material prevents laser beams from being projected within a range in which eyes of an operator are generally positioned. One or more openings provided to the protective component or the opaque shielding component provides an initial line of sight onto a material. As the saw beings to be engaged with the material, the protective component rotates in a direction to be separated from the material, and laser beams indicated by the solid line are projected onto the material.
