To provide a circularly polarized separating sheet which can be manufactured at a low cost and has high peeling strength and homogeneous polarization separating performance, and to provide a manufacturing method of the circularly polarized separating sheet, a liquid crystal display device using the circularly polarized separating sheet, and a composition for alignment film used for forming the circularly polarized separating sheet.

An alignment film is formed by laminating the liquid composition for alignment film, including a polymer A and a low molecular weight compound B having primary amino group and/or secondary amino group into a film shape on the primary surface of a sheet-like substrate; the primary surface of the alignment sheet is subjected to unidirectional rubbing; and subsequently, a polymerizable composition containing a polymerizable liquid crystalline compound is developed into a film shape on the primary surface of the alignment film subjected to rubbing and is polymerized, thereby, resin having cholesteric regularity is formed and the circularly polarized separating sheet is obtained.
