PURPOSE: The titled suspension, obtained by suspending cisplatin powder having a specific particle diameter in an iodinated oil, containing the cisplatin useful as a carcinostatic agent in a high concentration, capable of retaining the cisplatin selectively in tumorous parts, and having improved antitumor action.
CONSTITUTION: A cisplatin suspension obtained by suspending powder of cisplatin (chemical name: cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum) having 1W8μm, preferably 3W7μm average particle diameter in an iodinated oil. An iodinated olive oil, coconut oil, etc. or fatty acid ester may be used as the iodinated oil. When the suspension prepared by suspending the cisplatin sparingly soluble in water in the iodinated oil is administered from tumorous nutrient arteries, the cisplatin is found to be selectively retained in tumors thereof and contact remarkably the tumors. Further addition of a surfactant to the above-mentioned suspension preferably forms a suspension in a stabler suspension state.
