Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation in joint strength arising from embrittlement of a clad boundary by weld heat input.
CONSTITUTION: A clad material 3 is inserted between aluminum 2 and non- aluminum metal 1 and spot welding is executed. The area of the insert material 3 is designated as S, the nugget diameter on the aluminum side as (d), the thickness of the aluminum 2 as T, the strength of the clad boundary as #4clad and the strength of the aluminum as σAl, then S>(σAl/σclad+1.4).πnd2/4 and S>(σAl/αclad+1.4).4πT are satisfied.
