PURPOSE: The clad plate free from the quality deterioration, in which the carburization phenomenon into the cladding material like as austenitic stainless steel, nickel, etc., is restricted, by employing an extraordinary low carbon steel containing specified quantities of such carbon-fixing-element as titanim, zirconium, etc., for the parent metal.
CONSTITUTION: The employed parent metal is an extraordinary low carbon steel of carbon content 0.005W0.035%, and besides, contains such carbon-fixing-element as titanium, zirconium, etc., at the quantity of equivalent titanium 0.1W0.8%, that is 8W45 times of the carbon content; to this parent metal, the cladding material like as austenitic stainless steel, nickel, nickel-alloy, etc., is pressure welded by the explosive welding or the rolling. According to this method, can be obtained the superior clad plate, in whose faying surface the carburization is hardly recognized, even by the microscopic inspection of the constituent analysis. Therefore, even though in the case of clad plate made of very thin cladding material, the effective thickness of cladding material can be sufficiently secured.
