Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clad removal apparatus and a clad removal method enabling an operator to carry out clad removal work in an upper portion of a reactor.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a clad removal apparatus 19 includes: a mount block 31 that can be mounted above a penetration nozzle 17 penetrating a reactor pressure vessel 1; and an operation jig 33 attached to the mount block 31. The clad removal apparatus 19 further includes a clad removal mechanism 46 attached to the operation jig 33 and removing clad adhering to a surface of the penetration nozzle 17, a height of the clad removal mechanism 46 relative to the penetration nozzle 17 being adjustable by the operation jig 33.
