PURPOSE: To obtain a clad by welding product of sound structure by combining the cladding by welding process with the hot isostatic pressing process.
CONSTITUTION: A super hardened cladding by welding layer is formed by the plasma powder cladding by welding process, etc., on the whole or a specified part of a super hard material body. A defective part existing in the surface of the cladding by welding layer is detected by the color check method, etc., and the defective part is sealed by the thermal spraying method or the welding method and then, the hot isostatic pressing process(HIP) is performed under specified temperature and pressure conditions to obtain the desired clad product. Consequently, defects such as a crack and a blowhole existing in the inside of the cladding metal layer by welding are crushed by the HIP process and the structure becomes sounder.
