Abstract:
To provide a cladding type lead-acid battery eliminating the need for a leg portion 3 of a negative electrode plate made of a lead alloy.
A paste type negative electrode plate 1 without the leg portion 3 is used. A porous separator 4 of polyethylene having specific dimensions is folded. The folded part is folded several times and bonded by thermal welding to form a fold portion 6. The paste type negative electrode plate 1 is sandwiched by the separator 4 having the fold portion 6 at the lower part, and then edges of the separator 4 are bonded by thermal welding into a sack shape. This is then stacked together with a cladding type positive electrode plate 7 to thereby make up the cladding type lead-acid battery.
