Abstract:

To provide a clamping device capable of reliably clamping a polygonal part of a substantially hexagonal section, and having excellent durability and long lifetime.

The clamping device comprises a pair of first and second gears having an insertion port cut out respectively in the radial direction, and a pair of arms arranged in a rocking manner therebetween. A pair of flat parts facing each other of a polygonal part of a substantially hexagonal section are abutted on flat faces of the pair of arms so that the polygonal part is in a clamped state. The pair of arms have curved surfaces, and the curved surfaces are slidably brought into contact with a cam surface formed on an inner circumferential wall, and at least partially in a surface contact therebetween in the clamped state. The pair of first and second gears are rotation-controlled reversibly by first and second motors which are separate from each other.
