PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of classification on a fine particle side by replacing the cylindrical part in an inverted circular conical shape of a cyclone type classifier with a cylinder having a prescribed length.
CONSTITUTION: An inflow port is provided on the side face in the upper part of an upright cylinder 1 having height of ≥2 times of an inside diameter D in the tangential direction of the cylinder, and the 1st outflow port 3 opening in the position lower than the center of an inlet 2 is provided at the axial center in the upper part of the cylinder 1. The 2nd inflow port 4 is provided at the lower part of the cylinder lower by ≥2 times of the diameter D from the center of the inlet 2, thereby constituting a classifier. A fluid to be treated is introduced through the inlet 2 in the form of vortex flow into the cylinder 1. The vortex flow is not contracted, unlike the conventional cylindrical part of an inverted circular cone shape. The cylinder 1 plays simply the role of a hopper which gathers the large-sized particles falling therein. An extremely sharp sepn. at a specific grain size is thus made possible.
