PURPOSE: To provide a cleaner and a cleaning set capable of cleaning the surface of an object to be cleaned without dropping a droplet on the cleaning surface with most preferable moisture.

CONSTITUTION: A cleaner 1 is formed by fixing at the ends of a rod member 2 porous cleaning sheets, 3a and 3b, made of sponge having the saturated moisture content of more than about 1ml/cm3. These cleaning sheets, 3a and 3b, having a high moisture content, appropriate moist surface, and appropriate hardness, do not allow contained water to overflow and keep most suited moist surface, which enables the cleaning surface to be cleaned well.
