To remove scale without corrosion or damage to a surface to be washed by using a fiber product having a cleaning surface mainly composed of an alumina long fiber.
The alumina long fiber to be used is produced by the precursor fiberization of a continuous filament obtained by spanning a highly viscous raw material consisting of a water-soluble metal compound such as aluminum oxychloride or a polyaluminoxane and silica or other additives thereto and, particularly, it preferably has a circular fiber cross section. When a cleaning is performed by use of a cleaner using such an alumina long fiber, the surface to be washed is never damaged since the cross-sectional form of the alumina long fiber is circular, and the scale that was not removable in the past can be easily removed. Particularly, composite dirt of oil and composite dirt of rust can be easily removed. Since no abrasive grain is used, the washing of the abrasive is not required. Further, since its accumulation is also eliminated, a piping is never clogged.
