To provide a cleaner giving little scratches to glass and the like owing to its moderate hardness and able to clean dirty surfaces by weak force.
The cleaner 1 includes a single or a plurality of multiply knitted fabrics D including a knitted fabric A in which a large number of openings Ap having a size of 0.1-3.5 mm per square are formed with a large number of loops 10, a knitted fabric B having a large number of loops 20, and a linking yarn C for linking the mutually overlapping the knitted fabric A with the knitted fabric B. In the cleaner 1, the knitted fabric A has the surface area ratio of a fiber-coated area over the opening in 1:0.1-1.5, the single or the plurality of the multiply knitted fabrics D are fixed and integrated at the end of the knitted fabric A with that of the knitted fabric B, and the multiply knitted fabrics D have a compression pressure of not less than 400 N, when compressed to 40% compression to the thickness in a natural state. By using the cleaner 1, dirty surfaces are washed with weak force without scratching tablewears such as glass owing to its moderate hardness.
