Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a cleaning agent for ink which is lowly toxic and safe and exhibits a high cleaning power to various kinds of inks by compounding a specific alkyl oxyisobutyrate with a (di)propylene glycol monoalkyl ether.
CONSTITUTION: The cleaning agent for ink is prepd. by compounding 3-80wt.% at least one alkyl oxyisobutyrate (A) selected from among alkyl esters of α- and β-alkoxyisobutyric acids and α-hydroxyisobutyric acids with 20-97wt.% (di)propylene glycol monoalkyl ether (B). Component A selected is methyl or ethyl oxyisobutyrate. Component B selected is monomethyl, mono-n-propyl, or mono-n-butyl ether of (di)propylene glycol. The cleaning agent may be used as it is or as a mixture with water or an org. solvent, a mixture with water being pref. in terms of safety.
