To obtain a cleaning agent which not only can remove deposits from the surface of a methacrylic resin molding in cleaning the surface by wiping but also can reduce the amt. of static charge generated on the surface when cleaned by wiping.

This cleaning agent is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.vol. 2- methylpentane with 2-15 pt.vol. ethanol. 2-Methypentane vaporizes within 10 sec in wiping work without leaving a trace of wiping. Ethanol is pref. as an alcohol to be compounded with 2-methylpentane in terms of safety and hygiene. When the amt. of ethanol compounded is lower than 2 vol.%, sufficient static charge inhibition effects can not be obtd. The amt. of ethanol compounded higher than 15 vol.% causes a problem with the adjustment of vaporization velocity without enhancing the static charge inhibition effect so much; therefore, the amt. of ethanol not higher than 15 vol.% is suitable.
