PURPOSE: To obtain a cleaning compsn. which is excellent in removing staining substances attached to a precision part and. also in safety and hygiene by incorporating a specific cyclic compd. and a specific ether glycol as the effective components into the compsn.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning compsn. contains, as the effective components, a cyclic compd. having a b.p. of 80°C or higher and represented by the formula {wherein R is a 1-18C hydrocarbon group; and X contains at least one group selected from groups of -C(R2)(R3)-, -O-, -CO-, -COO-, -NR2-, -N(R2)CO-, -S-, -SO-, or-SO2 [wherein R2 is H or a 1-18C hydrocarbon group which may contain OH or OR4 (wherein R4 is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group); and R3 is a hydrocarbon group of R2 but it is not H]} and an ether glycol compd. of the formula: R5-Y-R5 [wherein R5 is a 1-18C hydrocarbon group; Y is -O-, -COO-, -NH-, or-NR7-; R6 is (R8O)m,R7; m is 1-4; R7 is H, a 1-8C hydrocarbon group, or (R8 O)nH;R8 is a 1-4C hydrocarbon group; and n is m].
