To provide a cleaning device for an air conditioner small, hygienic and low in noise with low frequency of dust disposal while maintaining conventional dust scraping performance.

The cleaning device for the air conditioner comprises a rotary cleaning body 34 rotationally driven by a driving means (not shown in the figure) and scraping dust sticking to an air filter 21 built in an indoor unit 20 of the air conditioner; a dust collecting box 33 storing dust scraped by the rotary cleaning body 34; and a dust transfer means 36 transferring dust in the dust collecting box 33. Dust disposal and maintenance are facilitated because the dust sticking to the air filter 21 is positively scraped by the rotary cleaning body 34 and stored in the dust collecting box 33, and since the dust is compressed by transferring the dust to one side by the dust transfer means 36, a large amount of dust can be stored in the dust collecting box 33. The disposal frequency of dust is thereby reduced, and a suction device is dispensed with to make the cleaning device small, low in noise and hygienic.
