PURPOSE: To absorb efficiently ozone generated from a corotron to a cleaner body by forming a slit-shaped path between a gap holding member provided in the vicinity of the corotron and a photosensitive body.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaner body 8 provided with cleaning brushes 21, 21' in a housing 20 is provided oppositely to a photosensitive body 4. Gap holding members 30, 31 are installed between this housing 20 and each corotron 9, 10, respectively, so that a gap to the photosensitive body 4 becomes 0.5W1mm. Also, slit- shaped paths 32, 33 whose gap is 0.5W1mm are formed respectively between shields 9b, 10b of each corotron 9, 10, and the housing 20. Since such a slit- shaped path is formed, ozone generated from the corotron can be absorbed efficiently to the cleaner body without narrowing the gap between the photosensitive body and the shield of the corotron.
