PURPOSE: To prevent leak of a toner by releasing pressing of an elastic material blade to an image carrier without detaching from the image carrier in accordance with stop of rotation of the image carrier.
CONSTITUTION: When power is supplied to a solenoid 5, a movable rod 5a is moved downward, and a blade holder 3 is turned counterclockwise around a shaft 7 through a tension spring 4, and the front end of an elastic material blade 2 is pressed to the surface of a photosensitive drum 1. After copying is terminated, power supply to the solenoid 5 is cut off at a proper time before or after stop of rotation of the photosensitive drum 1 to release pressing of the elastic material blade 2, and the elastic material blade 2 tries to be detached from the photosensitive drum 1, but detachment is stopped by a stopper 8, and the blade 2 is not detached form the surface of the photosensitive drum 1. Thus, the toner is not scattered, and pressing traces and adhesion by fusion of the toner to the image carrier are eliminated.
