Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively remove a fouling substance tenaciously adherent to an electrophotographic wet developing device by dispersing a specific resin produced by nonaqueous polymerization into a liquid of the same kind as the liquid carrier of an electrophotographic liquid developer.
CONSTITUTION: A monomer represented by the formula [wherein R1 is H or CH3 and X is-COOCnH2n+1 or-OCOCnH2n+1 (where n is 6-20)] is dropped into a solution of a styrene/butadiene or vinyltoluene/butadiene resin in a nonaqueous solvent. Nonaqueous polymerization is then conducted at 60-120°C in the presence of a polymerization initiator to obtain a resin. 0.1-10 pts.wt. this resin is dispersed into 100 pts.wt. liquid of the same kind as the liquid carrier of an electrophotographic liquid developer.
