To obtain a cleaning liq. which exhibits a high cleaning efficiency and does not damage the surface of a print, etc., by mixing a specified amt. of a starch powder with a solvent incapable of dissolving the powder.
This cleaning liq. is prepd. by mixing 100 pts.wt. solvent incapable of dissolving a starch powder with 5-20 pts.wt. starch powder which has a mode of particle size distribution of 10-30 μm and acts as a polishing agent. The solvent is selected from among an aq. soln. prepd. by adding a surfactant, a detergent, etc., to water at 50°C or lower, a mixture comprising water as the major ingredient and a water-soluble org. solvent, org. solvents such as ethyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketons, toluene, and methylcellosolve, and a mixtures of such org. solvents. Cells formed on the surface of a gravure form plate comprise walls 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d and bottom parts 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d and have sizes of 125-250 μm and depths of 40-60 μm, and 100-250 cells are arranged per inch. Dried ink dirt remaining in the cells can be removed by using this cleaning liq. by hand or with a cleaning apparatus.
