To provide a cleaning material that is simple in structure and can be made lower-priced and that can be used as a cleaning agent as it is accommodated and can prevent a cleaning agent from leaking during storage after use.
The cleaning material 10 is constructed of a cleaning agent 16 accommodated in a bag body 14 having liquid permeability. The cleaning agent 16 comprises a mixture containing one or more selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt and an organic salt of an 8-20C higher fatty acid as the main component in an amount of 15-40 wt.% based on the total and including water, wherein the cleaning agent 16 undergoes phase change from a liquid phase (state) to a solid phase (state) when cooled to not more than a predetermined temperature (X°C) determined substantially by the kinds of molecules and the blending ratio of the higher fatty acid salts and the cleaning agent 16 undergoes phase change from a solid phase (state) to a liquid phase (state) when cooled to not more than a predetermined temperature (Y°C) determined substantially by the kinds of molecules and the blending ratio of the higher fatty acid salts. The cleaning material 10 can be further covered with a bag body 18 made of a nonwoven fabric or foamed urethane, if necessary.
