Abstract:
PURPOSE: To break the wave, accelerate the aeration of water, and increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water at the breakwater line by damming up water regions to be cleaned or protected from pollution by means of porous breakwaters.
CONSTITUTION: Part or all of the surrounding of a water region 3 to be cleaned or protected form pollution is dammed up by means of porous breakwaters. By this, the wave is broken, aeration of water is accelerated, and the amount of dissolved oxygen in water at the breakwater line is increased by means of the breakwater 2. Also, planktons or flocks are eaten by or adsorbed on shellfish or seaweed growing inside the porous breakwater and thereby pollutants in water are eliminated.
