To provide a cleaning tool for an electrode capable of easily cleaning a needle-shape discharge electrode preventing the damage thereof.

The cleaning tool 1 for the electrode which removes foreign substances adhering to the tip of the needle-shape discharge electrode 22 includes: a cylindrical exterior part 2 having an opening 4a at a lower end; a cleaning body holding part 5 which is disposed in the exterior part 2 and is movable in an axial direction; a cleaning body 6 disposed at the lower end of the cleaning body holding part 5; and movement means 2, 7, and 8 which reciprocates the cleaning body holding part 5 in exterior part 2. The operations of the movement means 2, 7, and 8 causes the cleaning body 6 to move between the storage status of being housed in the exterior part 2 and the cleaning state of projecting from the opening 4a, wherein the cleaning body 6 fits to the inner peripheral wall of the opening 4a in the storage status.
