To provide a cleanser which exhibits a high cleansing force and high deodorizing and sterilizing actions, has high safety for users and targets to be cleansed, and further hardly shows the possibility of harmful effects and the like of residual components for drains, the atmosphere and the like, and to provide a method for producing the cleanser.

This method for producing the cleanser comprises adding about 1 to 10% of calcined animal bone powder to a prescribed amount of fresh water, boiling the mixture, cooling the obtained animal bone powder liquid down to about the ordinary temperature, adding a surfactant to the cooled animal bone powder liquid to give a concentration of 3 to 5%, and then adding a stabilized chlorine dioxide aqueous solution to the mixture in an amount of 2 to 7% based on the total amount of the liquid in a homogeneously dispersed state, and the cleanser produced by the production method.
