Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clearance adjusting method capable of reducing work man-hour.SOLUTION: A clearance adjusting method of adjusting a clearance S1 between a cam 31 and a roller 49, includes a clearance forming step for rotating a jig 60 about a projecting portion 63 to a valve stem 12 side, while the projecting portion 63 of the jig 60 is fitted with a recessed portion 46A provided at a valve abutting portion 44, pressing a spring retainer 13 provided on the valve stem 12 by a corner portion 64 of the jig 60 to displace the valve stem 12 to a side separating from a valve abutting portion 44, and generating a clearance S2 between a shim 15 attached at an end portion on the valve abutting portion 44 side in the valve stem 12 and the valve abutting portion 44; and a shim replacing step for replacing the shim 15 with another shim 15B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
