Abstract:
PURPOSE:To maintain the distance between a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic head constant based on the amount of face wobbling in recording and reproducing information by measuring the amount of face wobbling in the respective positions of the recording medium preliminarily. CONSTITUTION:The amount of face wobbling is measured by rotating an optical disk 43, driving an optical head, and irradiating the disk 43 with light beams from an objective lens 15. The amount of face wobbling is detected as a focus error signal from an autofocus mechanism. When recording the information, magnetic field modulation recording is conducted by the magnetic head while controlling tracking and focusing by the optical head. At this time, corresponding to the amount of face wobbling stored in a memory, a magnetic head VCM is driving by sending a signal to a VCM driver, and a rigid arm is operated to turn the distance between the disk and the magnetic head to a constant value at all times. Thus, high recording quality can be obtained while following up face wobbling well.
