Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain recovery of a clock of an optical communication unit with few jitters and a simple and inexpensive configuration, without having to employ complicated control and expensive components.
SOLUTION: The clock recovery system for an optical communication unit, that sends/receives a transmission signal with a transmission clock of a transmission signal and a transmission line clock asynchronously with the transmission clock, is provided with a transmitter 21 that converts the transmission signal synchronously with the transmission line clock into an optical signal, superimposes the transmission clock onto the optical signal and transmits the superimposed signal via the transmission line and with a receiver 25, that receives the optical signal via the transmission line from the transmitter, converts the received optical signal into an electrical signal, extracts the transmission line clock from the electrical signal converted from the received optical signal, recovers the transmission clock superimposed on the converted electrical signal, extracts the transmission signal synchronously with the recovered transmission line clock, and synchronizes the extracted transmission signal with the recovered transmission clock.
