Abstract:

To provide a recombinant glutamic acid decarboxylase65(GAD65) polypeptide, and a method for diagnostically and therapeutically using the GAD65polypeptide in autoimmune disease.

The recombinant GAD65polypeptide is selected from the following (a) to (c): (a) a protein having an amino acid sequence represented by figures 2, 3 or 4; (b) a protein having an amino acid sequence represented by figure 5-8 (not shown in the figure); and (c) a protein having an amino acid sequence obtained by deleting, substituting or adding one or several amino acids from, with or to the amino acid sequence of (a) or (b) of the figures 2-4 or figures 5-8, and having glutamic acid decarboxylase activities.
