PURPOSE: To improve a cooling effect of lubricating oil for a closed type electrical motor operated compressor, by providing a centrifugal pump to the upper end of a crank shaft through which an oil suction port pierces along the center axis thereof, being communicated with the oil suction hole, and by providing an annular oil sump on the inner wall of a sealed housing in opposite to the centrifugal pump.

CONSTITUTION: An electrical motor 3 and a compressor 4 which are integrally incoporated together, are disposed in the upper and lower portions of a sealed housing 1, respectively, and a centrifugal pump 11 is provided on the upper end of a crank shaft 5 having an oil suction hole 7 piercing along the center axis of the crank shaft 5, communicating with the oil suction hole 7. Further an annular sump 13 is incoporated on the inner wall of the sealed housing 1 in opposite to the centrifugal pump so that the centrifugal pump sucks oil accumulated in the bottom portion of the sealed housing, then feeds the oil to the sliding portions of the compressor and discharges the same to the annular oil sump for cooling it by the wall of the sealed housing as well as cooling gas atmosphere.
