To provide a closing material for perforation of tympanic membrane which can tightly adhere to the peripheral tympanic membrane and has excellent closing effect and a regeneration function, and is usable by simple operation, by manufacturing the closing material for tympanic membrane from a chitin sheet.
Chitin is poly-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and derivatives thereof obtained by treating Crustacea, exoskeleton of Crustacea, gladii of squid, etc., by hydrochloric acid and caustic soda to decalcify and deproteinize. Chitin solution is prepared at first, and, next, the chitin solution is directly formed into a required form or fiber or fibril is formed from the chitin solution before the fiber or the fibril is formed into a required form. The chitin solution is filtered by a stainless steel net, etc., to remove insoluble components and foreign matters, transported and metered by a gear pump, etc., and then discharged through a nozzle into a coagulation bath to coagulate.
