To provide a Clostridium difficile strain identification method suitable for practical industrial (medical site) use, and a primer set used therefor.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method that includes detecting the presence or absence of (1) ORF constituting genomic islet and (2) ORF constituting hyper variable-ORF existing in the genomic island, on Clostridium difficile chromosome, in any order, and identifying a Clostridium difficile strain by a combination of the presence or absence of these ORF.SELECTED DRAWING: None
