PURPOSE: To provide a closure for a plastic container which holds a hermetic state during thermal treatment and can be easily opened hygienically at once by including a heat-sealable shield layer comprising a pair of heat-sealing layers and a non-air-permeable layer between the heat-sealing layers on a lower face of a top comprising a center opening means.
CONSTITUTION: The closure 20 comprises a side wall 25 and a top 30, wherein the side wall 25 is formed with a first cut line 26, a second cut line 21 and a third cut line 28 extending from a top rim to a bottom rim. The top 30 includes an annular rim portion 31 and a center lid portion 32, wherein both are sectioned by a top cut line 33. A bottom face 61 of the top 30 is fused to a polypropylene layer 62 of a heat-sealable shield layer (barrier film). The shield layer is of a three-layered structure, comprising the polypropylene layer 62, another polypropylene layer 64 and an air-impermeable layer 63 interposed between both layers 62, 64. When the closure is exposed to an electromagnetic energy source, a metal layer is heated and the polypropylene layers placed oppositely is melted, to be fusibly fixed not only to the lower face of the top but also to a mouth end of a container.
