PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of providing a cassette discharge area on a sewing table and to contrive the space saving of a table by constituting the device so that an opening/closing cover for closing an opening part operates to the lower part from the sewing surface so as to form a plane continued to the sewing surface and is freely openable and closeable.

CONSTITUTION: A cassette 20 is moved on the sewing surface 6a by a program set in advance, and also, a needle is also driven suitably and prescribed sewing is executed. After sewing is completed, the cassette 20 moves automatically onto an opening/closing cover by a suitable operating signal or completion. Thereafter, by operating an operating part 17 or a suitable detecting signal for detecting its movement, air is supplied suitably to an air cylinder 13 through an air tube 15 from an air supply means 17, and a shaft of the air cylinder 13 is operated so as to withdraw. By this operation, a link member 10 moves so as to bend in an inverted chevron shape, and the opening/closing cover opens downward to a position for making about the same surface as a discharge part 8 by using a hinge 5 as a fulcrum. As a result, the cassette 20 drops down and is contained in the discharge part 8 as soon as the engagement to an engaging part 4a of a cassette holding arm 4 is released.
