To finish clothing in high-quality by securely bearing the load of large and heavy cloth and bringing its upper side into a straight line and prevent durability of the cloth from being deteriorated by reducing the burden on clamps retaining the cloth.

The cloth loading device develops and hangs the cloth by the clamps provided so as to be horizontally shiftable in front of a loading part 12 of a loading conveyor and loads the developed cloth onto the conveyor by a transfer part provided in front of the loading part. The cloth W is developed in front of the loading part 12 of the conveyer 11. At least one load support part having a lifting part 21 for placing the lower side of the cloth W to lift it is provided below the loading part 12 of the conveyor 11 for supporting the hanging load of the developed cloth W and bringing a suspension curve generated on the upper side of the cloth W into the straight line. The lifting part 21 is provided so as to be elevated by an elevating mechanism 24.
