Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cloth for polishing a magnetic disc allowing texture machining (polishing) for presenting uniform and fine surface roughness (Ra) by securing sufficient cutting amount (SR), regardless of the grain size of abrasive grain.
SOLUTION: At least weft is made of non-crimped threads mainly made of polyester extra fine filament fiber having round cross section and the weft covers the surface with wider area as compared with warp. This cloth comprises five or more sheets of satin fabric having a cover factor CF of 2800 to 3800 determined by the following equation. CF=[{warp total fineness (dtex)}×warp density (number/25.4 mm)]1/2+[{weft total fineness (dtex)}×weft density (number/25.4 mm)]1/2...(1).
