To provide a clothes drier capable of shortening drying time and easily executing drying suited to the kind of material and quantity of clothes by switching over overheat steam drying for drying objects to be dried by supplying overheat steam into a drying chamber and hot air drying by hot air.

In a drum type drier in which air heated by a heating means is forcibly circulated inside a circulation route through the drying chamber and the objects to be dried are dried by dehumidifying the air in the circulation route by a dehumidifying means, the overheat steam drying of turning steam generated from a steam generation means to the overheat steam by heating it again by the heating means and supplying the overheat steam into the drying chamber to dry the objects to be dried and the hot air drying of drying the objects to be dried by the hot air by the heating means are switched over and operated.
