This clutch device for a reverse travel gear of a conical disk- shaped winding transmission type continuously variable transmission has planetary gears 12, 13, and allows fastening of a ring gear 11 to a easing 18 through a second friction disc clutch 3 for the purpose of selecting a reverse travel range. Radial needle bearings 16, 17 and an axial needle bearing 42 support a planetary carrier 10 on a main shaft in a casing 18 at only three points. A friction disc 22 of a first friction disc clutch 2 is configured in a small- diameter configuration between cylindrical basket part 21 formed in the planetary carrier 10 and a hub part 24 of a sun gear 9 connected to a fixed piston 8 of a servo control part. An actuating device for the first friction disc clutch 2 having a cylinder/piston configuration 27/28 is disposed or formed in a radial flange on the hub part 24 of the sun gear 9.
