To provide a clutch for a seat of simple constitution and of favorable operability and steplessly adjustable.
A pair of can type one-way clutches 4, 4 of which rotation lock directions are opposite to each other are provided in parallel in an axial direction to use an outer wheel 2 and a shaft 3 in common. Each one-way clutch 4 has a roller 5 between the outer wheel and the shaft 3 to be engaged with cam surfaces 7A, 7B provided on the outer wheel 2 or the shaft 3 to lock relative rotation between both. Lock and idle rotation are changeable by action of a holder 6, and an operation lever 9 is provided on the holder 6. Either one of the outer wheel 2 and the shaft 3 is installed on a seat back, and the other is installed on a seat back support member. A two-way clutch may be used instead of a pair of the one-way clutches 4, 4.
