To ensure a high connecting strength between a primary driven gear and a kick driven gear while attaining reduction in size and weight of an engine and improvement in degree of freedom of design of both the gears by eliminating the clearance between both the gears through a simple structure.
A gear assembly 5 is constituted by press-fitting the kick driven gear 4 which transmits rotating force of a kick lever shaft 31 toward the primary driven gear 3 to the primary driven gear 3 integrally rotatable with a clutch housing 7 and mutually connecting the primary driven gear 3 and the kick driven gear 4 to be integrally rotatable. Both the gears 3 and 4 are preferably formed of an iron-base material of the same kind, and a boundary part P in the press-fit part between both the gears 3 and 4 is welded from the outside by electron beam welding.
